Saloni Sidana’s dad Anish Sidana is a rice factory proprietor in Jalalabad. Her mom is a housewife, she has one senior sister and a more youthful sibling and they all live in Jalalabad. The Civil Services exam that she gave in the year 2013 was her first attempt at the examination.

Saloni Sidana cleared her UPSC Civil Services Examination in her absolute first endeavour and accomplished 74th position in 2013. Her rank for the examination was 74th.

She has set a model that with appropriate direction and by placing in hard­work, anybody can accomplish the objective.

Saloni says, “Being an IAS in the first attempt was not a cakewalk; but, it was neither like climbing a mountain. It’s a little difficult but if one gets good guidance, does smart work, be persistent, and does not lose hope, then it can be achieved beautifully and easily. As she did, one should enjoy the process and predate the journey as much as the final destination.”

She was always a hardworking student, from her childhood and was dedicated towards her goals because of which she can be seen enjoying the success that she actually deserves now.

The optional subject chosen by Saloni Sidana for her UPSC Civil Services Examination was Law.

Saloni was a doctor and that profession helped her a lot in transforming her personality. With this career, she developed a habit of reading daily for several hours continuously which she even chose to do later during her preparation of the UPSC examination.

Reacting to why she chose her career in civil services after being a doctor, Saloni said, she realized that Civil Services can provide her with a broader platform and a chance to work in many areas affecting people’s lives.

For studying for this examination, she took the help of various books like the NCERT books and others as well.

Saloni Sidana’s Strategy to Prepare for Civil Services Examinations

Saloni cleared her examination in the very first attempt that she appeared for the exam. She had always dreamt of becoming an IAS officer and she fulfilled her dream of becoming one and this is all possible by her extremely hard work and dedication with which she studied day and night for the exam.

She worked extra hard for this examination; it was always her dream to clear this examination and get on the other side of the paper. She learned a lot of things merely by watching a lot of interviews over the internet and by reading a lot of General Knowledge books.

Along with this, the one thing and a habit which she developed over time that she also wants all of the new aspirants to adopt is to read a lot of newspapers. For her preparation of the examination, she read various newspapers, and developed a habit of reading them daily as well.

She has been a great motivation for students who think that this exam is too difficult and they can’t get through it.

Saloni Sidana’s Current Posting

Saloni has been transferred to Madhya Pradesh. She was earlier appointed as the officer in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
